Semaine 202549 - Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) - Moderate activity in general practice
Lundi 01 déc. 2025
ARI are caused by a variety of respiratory viruses including SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19), influenza viruses, and other respiratory viruses such as RSV, rhinovirus, and metapneumovirus. The purpose of ARI surveillance is to monitor outbreaks of these viruses. In mainland France, last week (2025w49), the incidence rate of acute respiratory infection (ARI) cases consulting in general practice was estimated at 238 cases per 100,000 population (95% CI [228; 247]).
Subject to future data consolidation, this rate continues the increase observed in recent weeks and corresponds to a similar level of activity to those usually observed at this time of the year (consolidated data for 2025w48: 189 [181; 197]).
At the regional level, the highest incidence rates were noted in: Bretagne (398 [345; 451]), Nouvelle-Aquitaine (383 [341; 424]) and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (288 [247; 328]).
Influenza: the incidence rate of influenza cases seen in general practice for an ARI was estimated at 107 cases per 100,000 population (95% CI [91; 122]) (data sources: Sentinelles, SOS Médecins, DUMG Rouen and DERMG Côte d'Azur).
Subject to future data consolidation, this rate is sharply increasing compared to the previous week, particularly among children (0-14 years), and corresponds to a moderate level of activity (consolidated data for 2025w48: 47 [36; 57]).
RSV infection: the incidence rate of RSV infection cases seen in general practice for an ARI was estimated at 33 cases per 100,000 population (95% CI [24; 42]) (data sources: Sentinelles, SOS Médecins, Rouen and Côte d'Azur Universities).
Subject to future data consolidation, this rate is increasing compared to the previous week and corresponds to a moderate level of activity (consolidated data for 2025w48: 23 [16; 30]).
Bronchiolitis in children under one year old: the incidence rate of bronchiolitis cases in children under 1 seen in general practice was estimated at 423 cases per 100,000 population (95% CI [265; 581]) (data source: IQVIA (EMR)).
Subject to future data consolidation, this rate is slightly increasing compared to the previous week (consolidated data for 2025w48: 227 [116; 338]).
Covid-19: the incidence rate of Covid-19 cases seen in general practice for an ARI was estimated at 9 cases per 100,000 population (95% CI [7; 11]) (data source: Sentinelles).
Subject to future data consolidation, this rate is stable compared to the previous week and corresponds to a low level of activity (consolidated data for 2025w48: 9 [7; 11]).
Semaine 202549 - Acute diarrhea - Low activity in general practice

The purpose of acute diarrhea surveillance is to monitor gastroenteritis outbreaks. In mainland France, last week (2025w49), the incidence rate of acute diarrhea cases seen in general practice was estimated at 70 cases per 100,000 population (95% CI [65; 75]).
Subject to future data consolidation, this rate is stable compared to the previous week and corresponds to a lower level of activity than those usually observed at this time of the year (consolidated data for 2025w48: 70 [65; 74]).
At the regional level, the highest incidence rates were noted in: Corse (112 [51; 173]), Grand Est (99 [77; 120]) and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (90 [68; 112]).
